Our unholy origin story

About TCG Prayer

TCG Prayer is two things wearing one robe. On the surface, it’s a parody church of pack luck: blessings for your booster box, candles lit for the chase card, curses for your friend’s pulls, and a confession wall for the money you spent on the gas-station mystery pack. Underneath, it’s a real trading card information site: pull odds, expected-value math, and honest tools for deciding whether to buy the pack or just buy the card.

Bless your packs. Check the odds. Open responsibly.

The honesty pledge

We will never claim to change your odds. Not in the product, not in the marketing, not in the fine print. Pack contents are decided at the factory; everything we sell is downstream of that fact and says so. Our paid items are jokes and tools, and they are priced like jokes and tools — a blessing costs about as much as a sticker, because that is what it is. Blessings are for fun. Stats are estimates. Pulls are random.

What we are not

  • Not gambling. Nothing sold here involves chance. Every purchase is a deterministic digital novelty or tool access, shown in full before you pay and delivered immediately.
  • Not fortune telling. The blessings are comedy. The only future we predict is statistical, clearly labeled as an estimate, and frequently disappointing.
  • Not affiliated with the publishers. TCG Prayer is an independent parody and informational website. It is not owned by, operated by, or officially endorsed by TCGplayer, Pokémon, Bandai, Wizards of the Coast, Konami, Disney, Ravensburger, Lucasfilm, or any TCG publisher.

How the church pays its bills

In plain words, the business model is:

  • Novelty items: paid blessings, candles, and curses — deterministic digital jokes you buy on purpose, knowing exactly what you get.
  • An optional subscription: the monthly tithe, for people who want the extra features and to keep the site running.
  • Labeled affiliate links: some outbound links to partners like TCGplayer earn us a commission at no cost to you, and every one is labeled — see the affiliate disclosure.
  • Tips: from patrons who enjoyed the sermon.

No ads, no selling your data, no dark patterns. The comedy is the marketing; the tools are the value; the disclaimers are sincere.

The wider congregation

Trading cards are a big tent, and the church has room for all of it: the competitive grinders, the sealed-box hoarders, the binder curators, and the collectors who are unapologetically here for the art. If you collect for the aesthetics as much as the odds, we even wrote you a waifu card prayer — you are among friends here.
